We have had a glut of 1960s and 1970s waistcoats entering the Beyond The Vintage HQ this week, a couple have come from America and we like to think they COULD have been worn at Woodstock?!!! OK... that is unlikely, and is impossible to prove, but the great thing about buying true vintage items like these is that you are ultimately buying a piece of history. Whether you know the story behind the item, or not - THERE WILL BE A STORY! 

Vintage waistcoats are perfect for festivals, adding instant boho hippy vibe to any outfit.  They are a staple of many celebrity festival goers, including Kate Moss, Sienna miller and Vanessa Hudgens.

 

But you do not have to wear them in the boho style, and they should not be kept only as festival wear, we think Twiggy looks super cool wearing hers with a tie.

You don't have to be dressed from head to toe in vintage to make this look work, wearing denim, silk, suede and corduroy waistcoats over high street clothes creates a nostalgic boho nod to the 1970’s.
